ACM AWARDS: The Performances

The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards was chock-full of performances -- 24 in all -- the most in the history of the show. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Carrie Underwood opened the show with a smoking-hot performance of her new single, "Good Girl."
  • Zac Brown Band, who was headlining the ACM's Fan Jam at Mandalay Bay, brought their entire show set to the venue. They performed "Keep Me In Mind" and later in the show played "Whiskey's Gone" with Brad Paisley, who wore a knitted cap just like Zac's.
  • Comedian and banjo player extraordinaire Steve Martin added some hot licks to Rascal Flatts performance of "Banjo."
  • Little Big Town gave a touching performance of a mash-up of John Lennon's "Imagine" and "Here's Hope," which was written by Hunter Hayes for the Outnumber Hunger Campaign.
  • Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw gave a preview of their joint Brothers of the Sun Tour with their performance of "Rock Star."
  • The most anticipated moment of the evening was Martina McBride and Pat Monahan of Train's performance of "Marry Me," which they sung while a couple got married.

Blake Shelton and Lionel Richie closed the show with their duet, "You Are" from Lionel's new album, Tuskegee.
