COL Goellen has 34 years service as an Army Chaplain. He has seen service as a combat battalion chaplain (1st Air Cavalry) in Vietnam; as an infantry division chaplain with the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell; the command chaplain of the US Army Europe retreat center in Berchtesgaden, Germany plus other significant postings including Fort Monroe, Fort Stewart, Fort Carson and Fort Hood.  He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College.  This year he is celebrating his 50th year of ordination.
