DescriptionCome to Chautauqua in the Park: The Roaring Twenties, held under a big-top tent on the OSU-Tulsa campus, to go behind the scenes in the era of The Roaring Twenties, the decade of American opulence and cultural shifting.  Each night, a different scholar gives a presentation in character followed by a Q&A session from the audience, first in character, then as a scholar.  Audiences will meet interesting five historical figures from the 1920s: Bessie Coleman, Babe Ruth, Will Rogers, Henry Ford and Zelda Fitzgerald.During the day, there are two workshops ...Read More +Come to Chautauqua in the Park: The Roaring Twenties, held under a big-top tent on the OSU-Tulsa campus, to go behind the scenes in the era of The Roaring Twenties, the decade of American opulence and cultural shifting.  Each night, a different scholar gives a presentation in character followed by a Q&A session from the audience, first in character, then as a scholar.  Audiences will meet interesting five historical figures from the 1920s: Bessie Coleman, Babe Ruth, Will Rogers, Henry Ford and Zelda Fitzgerald.During the day, there are two workshops held in Room 150 of the North Hall on the campus.  Each is led by a different scholar about a topic pertaining to either his character or some facet of the historical time frame of his character.  Workshop-goers frequently bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy during the short break between workshops.Local musicians, as well as the winner of the student Chautauquan contest, usually entertain the audience briefly before each evening's performance.  A variety of snacks will be available for purchase.  Make an evening of it and enjoy the ambiance of a summer night under the tent while learning about a fascinating time in history.Read Less -
